about
Sensual systems as tools for personal + collective liberation.
Pleasure As Practice was born from a sacred curiosity — one that asked: what would happen if I stopped trying to discipline myself into structure, routine, and productivity… and let pleasure lead instead?
Rooted in Audre Lorde's understanding of the erotic as a source of knowledge, power, and aliveness, Pleasure as Practice holds that pleasure — like grief — is a portal to full presence in your own life. That desire is not a distraction but a direction. That the nervous system responds to devotion, not shame.
This is a soft system for sensual structure. A living experiment in what becomes possible when you stop trying to fix yourself and turn instead toward pleasure, devotion, erotic ritual, and reverent routine. You don't have to be kinky to belong here. Just curious. Hungry for something softer, slower, and more honest. Open and ready for a system that seduces you into showing up for yourself — not one that shames you for falling short. If you're neurodivergent, sensual, ambitious, and tired of being at war with your own rhythm — this was made for you.
OUR FOUNDER HAS BEEN FEATURED IN:
about the FOUNDER.
I'm Erika Totten — healing justice facilitator, certified life and wellness coach, circle keeper, and the woman who discovered her ADHD needed more kink.
For more than 20 years, I've been a guide for people longing to build lives rooted in joy, authenticity, and liberation — holding space across communities, organizations, intimate circles, and 1-on-1. And then, out of sacred curiosity and a nudge I'd been feeling for years, I chose to bring all of that work into conversation with pleasure, self-devotion, and kink. In June 2025, I relocated our family from the U.S. to Mérida, México — an escape from a political climate that was closing in, and an arrival into the full expansiveness of the freedom we'd been building toward.
I am a sacred submissive. Discerning. Free from self-abandonment. Devoted to my own becoming, first and foremost. In the life for twelve years now, I am currently in an active D/s dynamic — practicing consensual power exchange as a tool for healing, self-actualization, creative follow-through, and the kind of erotic aliveness Audre Lorde spent her life pointing us toward. If you want to go deeper into what that practice looks like, the Substack is where I document it all.
